My understanding is that American Samoa has been excluded from minimum wage legislation about as long as Nancy Pelosi has been in the House, or about 20 years. It is not an exemption that was just added. Instead, it was an exemption that was continued from prior wage laws.

Nancy Pelosi, as a liberal democrat, should have worked tirelessly to protect these poor indigenous peoples from Imperial/ Big Business America and saved the Dolphins from ruthless Tuna fishermen, instead of INVESTING IN THEM! (wink)
