A GREAT ANSWER TO A DUMB QUESTION:
Katie Couric, while interviewing a Marine sniper, asked:
"What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?"
The Marine shrugged and replied:
"Recoil."
(Hard to fault a Marine that eloquent)

The Col in command of the MEU graciously paused, and said, "Katie, we're reasonably certain he ejected before the crash."

My first clue that this was false was that dear Ms KC would have referred to a sniper target as a "terrorist". I don't know that she has ever referred to anyone other than the 09/11 attackers as such. Should this interview ever had taken place, I'm quite sure that the term would have been something like "local resistance victim" or some other pejorative description.
