A well-known actor and filmmaker is speaking out on abortion, illegal immigration, radical Islam, and the New World Order. He says Progressives are destroying America.
Golden Globe, Emmy, and Tony Award winning actor, writer, and musicianas well as conservative patriotMichael Moriarty recently announced his interest in running for President of the United States in 2008. Hes doing it to take on Hollywoods liberal-left establishment and the Globalists.
If a Hollywood star denigrates the war on terrorism or promotes gay marriage, he or she is welcomed with open arms by the Oprah Winfreys of the world. But if he or she holds views that are considered conservative or libertarian, doors begin to close, said Moriarty.
Hes currently preparing to screen his new motion picture, Hitler Meets Christ, at an upcoming California film festival. Besides starring in the film, Moriarty wrote the screenplay.
Moriarty, best known for his role as Assistant District Attorney Ben Stone on televisions Law & Order, is a politically active conservative-libertarian whos outspoken on a number of issues including abortion, illegal immigration, Islamofascism and the New World Order.
In 1993, Moriarty gained notoriety amongst conservatives during his public battle with former Attorney General Janet Reno. Moriarty was an outspoken critic of her efforts to curb violence on television, in which she threatened to intervene if television executives didnt comply with her demands.
According to Moriarty, he was essentially blackballed by NBC and slowly written out of the series because of his outspoken criticisms of Reno. Eventually, Moriarty departed from Law & Order.
In 1973, Moriarty was cast opposite Robert DeNiro in Bang the Drum Slowly, a film about friendship between two baseball teammates. Also in 1973, Moriarty starred in a TV movie adaptation of The Glass Menagerie opposite Katherine Hepburn. Moriartys role in Menagerie won him an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actor of the Year. Coincidentally, the film also featured Sam Waterston, who took over the role Executive Assistant District Attorney on Law & Order.
His film credits include Clint Eastwoods The Pale Rider, Hanoi Hilton, Report to the Commissioner, Q, A Return to Salems Lot, and many others. He starred in the acclaimed mini-series Holocaust playing a Nazi who degenerates into a cold-blooded murderer (which earned him another Emmy Award). Last Christmas he appeared in the TV movie Santa Baby playing Jenny McCarthys boss.
While Moriarty continues his acting career he gained attention in Canada as being an outspoken critic of their oppressive tax system, strict gun-control laws and taxpayer-funded health-care system.
The Liberals call that "tolerance", Michael.
FYI: Michael Moriarty at IMDB.
Although I agree with most of his stated positions, and may even vote for the guy if he were to run, he doesn't stand a snowballs chance in an inferno of winning. Maybe if he were to run for governor of some place first or some other public office. Playing a DA on TV doesn't make for a good CinC and chief executive regardless of ones good intentions and beliefs. If it did, then I would be equally qualified for the job--as would several thousand others here at FR.
That sounded like I've played a DA on TV, which isn't what I meant. What I mean is that good intentions and beliefs are common on this forum, but they alone don't qualify us for the office.
Anyone have a picture?
What else do you want to know about Hollyweird. A true conservative thinks he is presidential material because he is an actor.
Can't be any worse than who we've got.
Yeah - an actor could never be president.
John Kerry did nothing but marry rich women and look what that act got him. The idiot damn near won the presidency.
Hitler Meets Christ...
I have a feeling that is not going to endear him to any constituency.
He actually used to be a liberal. I remember his "coming out" party on the Bob Grant show. This was right at the time he was making his rightward turn.
Thanks. Looks like a good guy to me. If you go on looks, that is. ha.
Dark Horse?............
He's got no chance. Kerry's got better hair, and so does virtually every other hopeful.
True story, Hitler will or already has met Christ.......depending on your denomination........
Glad to see "Q, The Winged Serpent" included in his filmography. I watched it again just the other weekend - cinematic excellence!
Hair? who needs hair? Didn't you know Bald is beautiful?...........I'm very beautiful!.........He's got my vote!........
"Although I agree with most of his stated positions, and may even vote for the guy if he were to run, he doesn't stand a snowballs chance in an inferno of winning. "
Sure he does. He is an actor. He has name and face recognition. L&O was a great show, regardless of how liberal it was. And he is a Conservative which means Hollywood will eat their own.
I understand where you're coming from, but there are also some people in this world without MBAs who are financial successes and some who are successful without the benefit of college. Managing people and bureacracy is a matter of character and common sense. Maybe he has success managing his production company or some other media-related business. I wouldn't dismiss his chances. I'd like to hear more about him.
