Howie live thread.
A press conference was aired on WRKO re: the new morning show with Tom Finneran. Start date will be Feb 12. Scott Allen Miller will continue in his current slot until then and he may wind up elsewhere at Entercom after his show ends.
Finneran says the show will feature everything from politics to sports (oh, the press conference just ended and the first caller said it was a sad day for the station, and the caller said Finneran was an "arrogant, condescending, liar").
I think it was said Finneran might appear on Howie's show later today but I could be wrong. When asked about Howie, Finneran said "at one time, Howie thought I was a rising star. Now he thinks I'm a fraud".
Wolfe and Kahn said they knew WRKO had to have local content, not something piped in from LA or NY.
Have you been being a good little boy lately?????
Yeah that was pretty funny! I love the chump line.
ZAP-A-MOLE (hunter)!
I sure hope that somebody has the entire audio of "Tommy Taxes" segment on the Howie Carr Show. I assume that it was interesting.
Wish I'd taped it! And I don't know if WRKO still does that 1 am webcast rebroadcast. Rest assured that if they do a "Best of Howie Carr" show, THAT hour will probably appear.
Oh, and btw, Col. Hunt in for Howie (Fla. trip) on Friday
and VB filling in on Monday--in a show that won't air
on WRKO till the 2 pm Celtics game and postgame show ends.
Try WCRN 830 or other sources.
>>impending boycott
by the way, back in March one of WRKO's regular sponsors,
Harv. Pilgrim Health Care, asked that their spots be taken
off the John DePetro show because they were concerned about anti-gay comments he was making. They complied. Since a sponsor was upset, be aware that THAT could be among the reasons DePetro eventually got the heave ho.
Weekday afternoon games are scheduled to air on WEEI 850.
But that won't save us from next Monday when Howie's show (VB filling in) will be partially pre-empted by a 2 pm CELTICS
game and post game. Try WCRN 830 or other sources.
It's also now available on the Massachusetts Board as one whole segment.
