Another attempt to promote the UN's tentacles into American churches.

I wouldn't exactly call the basis of you opinion very sceintific. Listen, any religious organization is going to attract oddballs. My point is that Opus Dei, is primarily a service organization, and the people who run it are actually pretty mainstream. What I did for them was give art lessons to underprivledged kids in the Bronx.

Well clearly both of our impressions and stories are subjective and anecdotal. I doubt Opus Dei or the LT's would allow any independant researcher access to Opus Dei or LT adherents except under very controlled circumstances.

Anything that has Bill Clinton involved seems destined to fail. What they're really trying to do is teach a Disneyland gospel. In other words, tell people that the Bible doesn't really mean what it says. Rather than talk about morality, they want to talk about poverty and healthcare. They just want religious votes. What a political sham.

The Church is for school vouchers because of its own school system (and I am for vouchers as well) but in general they tend to support entitlement (or at least not oppose) programs. In general, religious institutions do a better job at managing funds better than a direct government program. Although the Vatican hasn't unquivocally prohibited capital punishment, most documents coming from the American Catholic bishops have been anti-capital punsihment. I want to see how vocal the Catholic church becomes as the immigration debate heats up (if it does)?

Actually, Opus Dei has been very open with the media about what they do, and what they believe in. The media doesn't want to believe the truth, just like they secretly want to believe that the Freemasons rule the world. The only unusual thing about Opus Dei is the nutballs who wear cilices. And there are very few of those. It is not a requirement, just a weird tradition that evolved from people wearing hair shirts for the same purpose.

Don't cry 'extremism' or it'll be called discrimination.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have proposed the establishment of a broadly inclusive alternative Baptist movement to counter what they called a negative image of Baptists and to address poverty, the environment and global conflicts.

MEGoody propose that Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton receive Christ, become born again, and get their minds renewed.
