WASHINGTON -- While reviewing national security documents from the Clinton Administration in preparation for his appearance before the 9/11 Commission hearings, the Clinton administration's former national security adviser, Mr. Samuel R. Berger, was observed stuffing them in his socks by employees at the National Archives. Soon he was accused of taking these documents -- memos, draft documents, e-mails, that sort of thing -- from the Archives in breech of the law, and he was duly charged. All of this took place a couple of years ago, and those of us who had followed the Clinton high jinks with more diligence than the rest of the

If I had been caught stuffing secret papers into MY socks, I would still be in jail.
Might well ask if the US Attorney General is up from his nap yet ?
I would really like to know what kind of back room power is involved that kept this from being a criminal case. An inept criminal to boot.
The irony here is that while this was going on, the big news was that Martha Stewart was going to jail for lying under oath during an investigation about her alleged illegal stock trades.
Berger steals TOP SECRET documents during a senate investigation regarding this nations security and he is let off the hook. We laugh.
Martha Stewart follows fishy advice, sells stock right before it plunges, then makes false statements during the investigation and goes to jail.
And .. Berger's slap on the wrist should tell us that the "leftovers" in the Justice Dept are protecting the Clintons .. NOT AMERICA.
I'm disgusted with our new AG - he did nothing to stop this treason against America. They're protecting him because he could ruin Hillary's chances to get elected.
If I were Berger, I'd be watching my back!
--to me , this is the classic example of Bush Administration spinelessness on matters domestic---
Attorney General Gonzalez is PATHETIC!!! He is certainly not up for the job.
Berger is a criminal. The loyalty of Web Hubbel and Sandy Berger to the Clintons confounds me. What do they have against people that would break the law for them?
Bush tried a New Tone.....and they have destroyed him.
I have said it over and over. Alberto Gonzales needs to go. Wish Bush felt that way. Maybe we need to do what RATs do. Call for his head.
They are all in this thing together. NWO
Now there's a crackerjack question, old ironsides!
Perhaps Bill and Hill have them on film in compromising positions? My word, the thought of that is not an appealing image, is it?
Or worse.
Attorney General Gonzalez is PATHETIC!!! He is certainly not up for the job."
Berger was prosecuted under former Attorney General Ashcroft, before Gonzalez' time. The actual Justice Department prosecutor who offered Berger a plea bargain in the case, Noel Hillman was promoted to federal judge.
Oh God, it's even worse than I thought.
What shocks me about all this stuff involving the Justice department is...well that the Justice department was a part of all the cover up.
Recently there was a post regarding Justice department investigation into leaks. I believe it was in Breaking News but I might be mistaken.
Anyway, since the "victim" agency would not help in investigating the leaks, well but of course, boom, the FBI just DROPPED the investigation.
And now I discover that the Justice department covered up the seriousness of Berglar's crimes?
Maybe it's me, but I'd always assumed the rogue agencies were the CIA and State.
Evidently, silly me, our own Justice department is part of a shadow government, all busy covering up misdeeds of the Clintonites.
Where is Gonzales?
If a Republican had been caught stealing archived documents they would be in sing-sing for life or hung for treason. Sandy Berger's crime makes the 911 commission report worth nothing.
I will contribute nothing to the Republican cause as long as Sandy Berger is a free man.
I will contribute nothing as long as President Bush promotes Amnesty and does nothing to protect our borders.
I will contribute nothing until we fight in Iraq with all we've got ignoring the crybabies and paintie-waists politicians and left-wing media ninnies.
Does Hillery have George Bush's tt's in her lock-box?
