I'm not getting why someone his age would've or could've been held for so long .. am I the only one?
I am thinking that there is a LOT we don't know.
He was 11...not 5 or 6...my 7 year old granddaughter seems smart enough and aware enough to try to run away from a stranger...LONG before she would be brainwashed into not even admitting who she was if someone asked her.
All I know is...whenever they show him...I get a feeling there is a lot going on in him...and he is showing SO little emotion...it is very odd.
Stockholm syndrome and worse. There's many ways to frighten and subdue a child. I can't bear to think about it and I'd have to think about it tell you.
I know what you mean...like I sort of tried to tell Star...when I look at him and think about what we don't know..and he has experienced, but has probably dissassociated from...it is very, very scary.
I hope his parents are prepared...
Not if she shamed by what is done to her first and then told her parents will be killed if she tells anyone or if she doesn't comply. That's just for starters. I can't go there. Husband has told me some horror stories and I have to keep them out of my mind.
I'm sure that's true .. and so is Stockholm Syndrome .. just strange. He did keep putting his head into his Mom's neck several times .. and they were SO joyous and calm .. the stepdad was special, I thought. So full of heart.
Pray our hearts out for the two rescued boys and for abused children everywhere.

The stepfather set up that foundation and was very, very involved in finding Shawn..something tells me he has talked to a LOT of people, like maybe the Smart girl's family...and Polly Klass' father..and John Walsh..
I am sure that he knows that they may have some work to do..but, the boy looked so lost...
I did hear the mother say that Shawn and I guess his sister were talking last night..and she kept asking him if he remembered this and that...and he said he did...
We will see...put I will definitely pray for a very happy family life for all.
They need to keep news media far, far away.

One good thing is...they have the trial to use as an excuse with a very persistent MSM...they can just say that they don't want to do anything that would jeopardize the case...but revealing any evidence..blah, blah.
Absolutely .. TONS of therapy and patience .. and prayers. He was so calm, wasn't he?
Right --- the trial. I hope it's speedy. I'm certain Missouri does a better job than CA, but maybe not as good as Texas. :0)
He did appear calm... it might have been shock and awe too.
I hate to do this...I feel like such a party pooper..
but, I am getting so sleepy.
I think I need to go get some sleep.
