You only need listen to the first 4 or 5 minutes to grasp what's going on -- and what YOU need to do.

You can find YOUR senators' email addys here:
http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm
If you want to CALL, their office numbers are also listed here. EMAIL AND CALL (you surely have some free LD minutes you can devote to saving your First Amendment rights?).
Let's put the com system up there into MELT-DOWN -- while it's still legal to do so!
And if this post "annoyed" you because you don't really care about this "political stuff," YOU are a big part of what's wrong in this country today.
PS: If you agree that this IMPERIAL GANG on Capitol Hill is trying to further insulate itself from we commoners, copy and paste this to YOUR lists.
Sorry, link to message broke in lead post. Here it is again

And the Senate directory URL is

I heard someone talking about this...not sure about the details.
A clue as to what this about would help.
You said -- "A clue as to what this about would help."
Yes, it would have helped. I had to listen to part of it to even see what it's all about. We need some printed material here, to read about it, too.
However, from the little bit that I heard, it's apparently some "inserted language" in the middle of this bigger bill (ostensibly about other "good things") -- in which this particular language will *effectively muzzle* all lobbying efforts by "grassroots" and "family america" from any sort of radio programs, magazines, internet publications or boards (? - maybe...) -- and *not allow* information to be distributed to average Americans, so that they know what is going on in Washington (and so they couldn't call and complain, for example).
They intend to do the "muzzling" by making the reporting requirements so stringent, that even saying "Happy Birthday" to a Congressman on the phone or saying that it's a Congressman's birthday, would require all sorts of reporting of all the monies which went into that "announcement" (to your group -- like The American Family Association, for example). And for *every instance* of a failure to report one single quarter (or two -- if you made a call by pay phone) -- there would be a $100,000 fine.
So, it would effectively shut up all radio program, or magazines or any other efforts at "grassroots" America to know what's going on -- even -- to the point where a pastor in church, saying something about an issue (maybe abortion, for example) could come under those sanctions, too.
Okay, that's about as good as I can get it from my first "listen through" on the program (and a quick listen, too...).
The radio program kept saying (from the several people talking about it), that this is obviously the result of them being "called" on many issues in the past from the average American -- and the Senators *are tired of hearing* from the average American. Their attitude is that they want to be *left alone* to make legislation *without* hearing from grassroots America.

What is the Bill Number? The Senate Bill Number? I have to read what is being proposed. There isn't anything on the Dobson site. Thanks
I don't know if you want to check this out. It might be interesting for some people on your list of contacts.

You asked -- "What is the Bill Number?"
On the radio program, they said it was "Senate Bill 1". And they said it was "appropriately named" Number 1 -- since it is the first bill out the door. I don't know if that helps or not.

Thank you. This is good info and I appreciate the effort.
Here's a link to the article you provided -- in its own thread...

Let's see, will Claire Mc...Kill of MO listen? Lord have mercy, it rips my heart out to even have to call her office, but I will. Every time I think about her I need to pray for her, and ask the Holy Spirit to give me the words to say as I am always overcome with horror at anyone who can be so deadly to the innocent.
Thanks and I did find everything. I went to Roll Call and they have an article but the GOP are the ones who introduced this Bill but when trying to find who added the Grassroots part of the Bill it has been rather vague on trying to find an answer.
Thanks again.
Not to worry, I'm sure Bush will veto it. Of course he will.
Ping!
Bump it to the top!
Ping...

You're kidding? Aren't you?
