I would like a history lesson from an FR in Detroit, please. What is the origin of the muslim migration to Dearborn. Were there government dollars to attract them? University grants? Why the magnet up there?

Assembly line jobs. Or at least that's what I was told when I was growing up in Dearborn.

Two Words: Henry Ford.

That and after the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the Detroit area was a hot bed for Lebanese immigrants and others until the National Origins Act of 1924.

I live in a Detroit suburb and most of the Arabs I know are Chaldeans, (Iraqi Christians) or Lebanese, who are some of the most kind and giving people you will ever meet.
