Believe it or not, a blind date. My husband was on Christmas leave from the Naval Academy. In a bid to get his brothers to stay at home with him, his mother told them they could not go out unless they could get him a date. I was asked by a co-worker who was dating his brother. We are still together after 33 years of marriage. Not sure how long it will continue as he is retiring next month.

Believe it or not, a blind date.

It was a kind of blind date for my wife and I, too. My wife's then coworker is a friend of mine and had invited her to a Labor Day festival to meet his friend. The fact that I was not the friend he intended to have her meet didn't stop us from starting to date and marrying six months later. Over 21 years ago that was.
