The delivery was amazingly poor. Bush exuded demoralization to my mind. Bush is just too slow to react to events, IMO. Has Lincoln once said about a Union general, he has a case of the slows.

President Bush's speech was not going for rhetorical flourishes. It was a speech of substance, which I welcome.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I also can't put my finger on an exact description. Unsettling, however. Not a good idea to delegate leadership and the inspiring of confidence.
I listened to it on the radio and I thought he did very well. Not only that, the evening commentators were swayed by what his speech. They said that this is no longer a partisan issue and that we are fighting terrorists for the long haul. Very interesting.
