"America's commitment is not open-ended,"
But perhaps it should be. We hung around long enough in Germany and Japan to make sure that the sacrifices of our servicemen and woman were not rendered meaningless.
And 30,000 troops died in Korea during 2 1/2 years while Truman was president. That's 10 times as many as have died in Iraq under Bush.
34,000 Americans gave their lives for Korean freedom.
We had a compulsory draft then, dropped mega bombs, and put many more troops in those countries. Open ended requires a true investment.
The liberals will never allow Iraq to end well for President Bush. They have over played their hand and now when Bush offers alternatives to Stay the Course their leaders say we can't support alternatives. So the Democrat Leadership has adopted stay the course. They won't support surge they won't unify around withdraw. They want to ride the hate Bush train even after they have control. Shame on any Republican that lets them get away with this. For any republican that signs on the Dingy Harry Land Deal Reid's call for Bi-partisan rejection of a troop surge they need to switch parties because I will actively campaign against them in 08.
We are still there.
