> McCain is going to go off like Dean <

Probably correct. I'll never forget the time John-John hung up on Michael Reagan, during an interview on Reagan's radio show.

It was during the 2000 primary season. Just before the interview, Reagan indicated he might support McCain. And once McCain was on the phone, Reagan was very polite. But when he asked McCain a mildly penetrating question, John-John seemed completely to lose his self-control and abruptly hung up without so much as a fare-thee-well. He was extremely rude, and his behavior was totally uncalled for.

The incident made a lasting impression. And since then there's been no doubt in my mind that Johnny ain't quite right in the upstairs department.

"Not "just" abortion, he also believes in gay rights and he sort of proved that belief wasn't a 1994 anomaly.
Where do you get that he's for "gay rights?" He lead the charge against the Mass. Supreme Court's decision on gay marriage and tried to get it banned in the Commonwealth. As a fellow Mormon of Mitt's, I can tell you we Mormons are not for gay rights in any way other than they having the same constitutional rights as anyone else, but with no special protections nor right to marry. Sorry, but unless you can back up this claim I have to vigorously dispute. NO ACTIVE MORMON, and Mitt is an active Mormon, would claim to be for special rights for gays."

Before some Romney hater posts it, Mitt was indeed in favor ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) in 1994. He no longer supports it, and has NEVER been in favor of gay marriage.

Romney is our John Kerry. He's a flip-flopper from MA who will say anything to get elected. As a conservative, I won't vote to put a liberal into office, even if that liberal is a Republican.

We have another option...

Amazing how Mitt is wooing several top conservative Congresscritters considering Mitt donated very little to the Congressional races in 2006.

May Mitt use it to rough up McCain and Giuliani, so Duncan Hunter to sneak thru.

also, did you watch the video to the end.... one thing he said in the 1994 video and the link I mentioned does not dispute is he felt everyone should be allowed into the Boy Scouts, regardless.

OK, a woman giving birth stumbles into the emergency room. She has no insurance. What's the adult solution and conservative solution to that very real problem?

Deval already resended it. Romney waited until the 11th hour of his governorship to do that and I think it was too little too late, he knew he was leaving office and it wouldn't stick, but he could put it on his resume for the run for the roses.

You're right he did wait until the 11th hour. No excuse there except of course that is the federal government's job but state and local cops should also enforce the law.

Increase the charitable contribution that the hospital can claim every year on it's taxes. Otherwise known as a charitable write-off. Since this would be charity.

Oversight would be needed to chart trends of such charitable incidents to see trends (like illegal immigration and such) and report to the people and the state legislature.

Since the government has not and will not do their job then it's up to our cities and states to put an end to this madness.

"I have full confidence he will run as a pretty solid conservative when running nationally precisely because he came right to govern after his 1994 campaign for Senate and later for governor." If you mean when he runs against the hillary rodhamster, wake up! The clinton goons like Rohm and Begala will make sure their media whores crucify Romney with anything he has said that would turn off conservatives ... political reality (especially with goons that control the democrap party now) is far more harsh than you appear to realize. The clinton goon squad likely already has a huge file of ammunition ready for placement with their propaganda lapdogs in the alphabet networks ... just look at how blatant is the media propaganda (MSNBC and the other alphabet democrat sycophantic networks) in service to the democraps' opposition to the Bush surge plan and it hasn't even been publicly announced by him yet!

I agree, how's Arizona doing with that? They aren't supposed to be a liberal state like Romney's Massachusetts.

You know therein lies part of the problem... (I work for a doctor), if you provide a service and don't get paid for the service, since you never received any funds you cannot write it off on the taxes -- you either have to try to collect some through collections (usually too expensive to fool with) or just write it off the books.

That said: Poor people in this country have insurance -- Medicaid. Old people have insurance -- Medicare.... and a large population of working people have insurance through their employers.

More people could afford health insurance if the insurance companies were not charging such high premiums. The high premiums cover the high costs passed on to the insurance companies for treating people like us who have insurance (in the hospitals). Hospitals do this to make up for their losses from treating illegals.

Oh come on, just thinking someone shouldn't lose their jobs because their gay doesn't make them some gay lover who will pass all sorts of special rights for gays. Come on. Frankly I'm not at all comfortable with the idea that someone can be let go just because someone whispers in the boss's ear that so and so is gay. Neither do I want someone fired for cause to be able to fall back on their sexuality for protection. So something that's reasonable being put in place to protect the PRIVATE sexual choices of others without allowing it to be used to keep them in a job where they're not performing is not all that unreasonable of a position, and certainly doesn't make him some gay activist. Other than that, I don't support anything that would grant gays some special status, not even hate crimes laws. This is a REALLY thin reed on which to hang opposition to Mitt.

And who may I ask do you think will make a better candidate?? I ask this not as a committed Romney supporter because I don't know who I'll support yet. But I'm not wasting a lot of time trashing all other potential candidates based on one or two of their positions.

How do you know McCain did this?

Do you have a link?

Or are you just guessing? Throwing mud on the wall, hoping it sticks to the other guy?

That's not going to harm Romney's chances! That's been known for some time. It will only be meaningful to those who already do not support Romney. It seems to turn them on - and that's why we see people like you posting this stuff over and over.

His Universal Health Care Plan is being touted by Kennedy today, I don't call that conservative, not by a long shot.

And, in spite of already knowing this, some have conveniently forgotten it's a health plan nearly identical to Newt Gingrich's plan (as per his website) and touted by Newt as well.
