Gov. Schwarzenegger writes a prescription for disaster.

MONTEREY, Calif.--On Monday, Arnold Schwarzenegger presented his proposal for reducing the number of Californians who lack health insurance. His proposal is almost indistinguishable--except in details--from that of the Democrats who dominate the California Assembly and Senate.

The Democrats tend to favor solutions involving regulations, government spending and taxes, and Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata's proposal--the main contending Democrat plan--hits the trifecta. It would require employers to provide health insurance; give them the option of paying a tax instead of providing health insurance; and increase spending by expanding both the Medi-Cal and Healthy Families programs, which provide care to low-income children--including children of illegal immigrants and the disabled.

Mr. Schwarzenegger's solution hits the trifecta also. He would require employers with 10 or more workers to provide health insurance or pay a 4% tax

I think it is great that the people of California are now going to provide universal health care for the nation of Mexico.

Mexico is actually very wealthy with oil riches, vast mineral and industrial resources. Unlike the USA, Mexico is ruled by a super-rich oligarchy that steals all the money (Unlike Mexico, the US has a Republican Party to protect the middle class).

It is wonderful that California will now provide the poor people of all Mexico with free health benefits, saving enormous expense to the ultra-rich Mexican ruling class.

No problamo, Arnold's got big shoulders.
I just don't know why he doesn't declare his socialist agenda like Chavez did.

80% of all business in California is less than 10 workers...watch workers get fired to keep it under 10.....Those businesses don't have to give their workers health care...Watch the 100 million mexicans left in mexico come to sunny california and the libs welcome them..California will be in the toilet within 5 years and I say GREAT!!!!!!!because it will show the rest of america what their FREE health care will look like.....

--hardly any California politico of either stripe worries much about spending--they figure that with the size of the Congressional delegation, Uncle Sugar can always be counted on to bail it out---
