Faced with outrage over airing a video showing terrorists shooting and killing American soldiers in Iraq, CNN is auctioning off a Hummer it used to cover the liberation of Iraq in order to raise money for wounded vets.
On January 20, the Hummer will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. in Scottsdale, Ariz. "We'll be donating all the proceeds to the Fisher House Foundation," said Jennifer L. Martin, a spokesperson for CNN. Fisher House is a program that provides humanitarian assistance to veterans of the Iraq War and their families.
This announcement comes as the Stoney Creek Hospitality Corporation, which operates 10 Stoney Creek Inn hotels in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin, has dropped CNN and CNN Headline News from its basic cable offerings because CNN aired terrorist videos of American soldiers being killed in Iraq.
Company President James Thompson said of CNN's decision: "I am repulsed by that judgment, and I made a decision of conscience for myself. There comes a time when you either stay silent or speak out, and this was wrong."
In response, Rep. Duncan Hunter called for the Pentagon to expel any CNN reporter embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq. CNSNews.com reported a Hunter spokesman as saying that being embedded with the U.S. military in Iraq is "a privilege, not a right," and CNN violated that right by airing the terrorist video.

No wonder most of our troops hate the media.

They think auctioning off the Hummer will appease everyone? That's even more disgusting.

The winning bidder probably has to go to Iraq to get it.

I watched Hunter on CNN when he went after them for showing that video. He demanded that NO reporters from CNN to allowed in country, and especially not embedded with our troops.

I well remember Rudy telling a Saudi sheik where he could stick his money after 9/11.
Courage is not something ever exhibited on CNN, nor is patriotism. They hate this President, and most likely, this country.

If the media is taken out of the mix, our troops will be able to get their jobs completed.
This PC BS has got to stop and stop now. This is total disrespect for our troops and does nothing but allow our troops to continue to be placed in harms way at a more escalated rate.
Moreover, the TERRORIST have learned how to use CNN and the other Lamestream media outlets to push their agenda.

You'll not get a disagreement from me. I totally believe that the Media is to blame for all of this sordid mess we see at this time.
At the time, the media is so busy patting themselves on the back thinking they helped the Democrats win the Congress, they are being blinded by their arrogance.
Once again, thanks to all of the stay at home and one issue Conservatives, thanks for showing those Democrats! You did a great job! I commend all of you on a job well done.

CNN confessed to suppressing news of torture and abuse under Saddam Hussein to maintain the Baghdad Bureau.
Did CNN ever show the execution video of Saddam Hussein or is it just okay to show video of US troops being killed?
The media's lame excuse in not showing any death footage from 9-11 is that it was "out of respect" for the families of the 9-11 victims. Where is the respect for the families of the sniper victims?
Why do they still show respect for Saddam Hussein and his family? Hasn't the media long pushed for a capital punishment clip to show America so we would think twice about the death penalty?
If they use the excuse that showing the execution of Saddam Hussein and the thousands of dead bodies from 9-11-2001 would "outrage" Islamists and Americans, what do they believe the effect of showing US troops being picked off will do? Sour the war effort? Embolden the enemy?
The media is treasonous.

It is time to $crew CNN with the power of our $'s. Block all CNN channels on your satellite system or cable system and send the CEO's an email of why you are blocking CNN.
When our Dish system was installed 6 years ago this spring, I asked the installer to block all CNN channels to show me how to block the bad channels. He laughed and did it. We have not missed CNN.

Dick Parsons runsTime Warner which owns CNN.
The troops get the proceeds from a CNN Hummer ( bet it's in mint condition) while Parsons donates millions of shareholder dollars to the Apollo Theater in Harlem .
Nice.

I will go a lot farther in my support of this President.
We have fought the war well. We have taken our time, thereby minimizing our losses. Never has a war been fought with so much success, so little loss of life, and yet the so called conventional wisdom, all those living room generals just know they could have done better.
There are 17,000 murders in the US every year.
There are approx. 1,000 training accidents in the military every year.
We have lost about 2,600 battle deaths total these four years.
Yet, we have all these experts determining how the war ought to have been fought.

I don't have cable. I don't fund these channels which would receive a share of my cable bill even if I don't watch them.
When the consumer has to "opt in" to individual channel purchase, he will not be so generous. Meanwhile the broadcast channels still don't get compensation from the pay-tv bill.
