WASHINGTON (AP) --
In a concession to the Senate's new Democratic majority, four of President Bush's appeals court appointees have asked to have their nominations withdrawn, Republican officials said Tuesday.
These officials said that William Haynes, William Myers and Terrence Boyle had all decided to abandon their quest for confirmation. Another nominee, Mike Wallace, let it be known last month that he, too, had asked Bush to withdraw his nomination.

McCain --- 83%
Hillary -- 9%
---"Protest voting has ALWAYS had incredibly bad unintentional consequences and has never resulted (as far as I know) in those protest voters getting what they wanted in the next election or two."---
True enough, at least as far as Congress is concerned. Ya might be able to make up for a protest vote in - perhaps - a Presidential election. But winning back double-digit seats in Congress isn't quite so repairable.
Winning Comgress back, or the Senate for that matter, is going to be HARD.
I see she struck a nerve with you, huh?
That man is disgusting. Leaving his model wife after a car accident, then finding another woman (not necessarily in that order.) What a morally bankrupt creep. I will never vote for him.
Oh, I agree with that 100 percent.
For the life of me, I do not understand what happened to them; we gave them the sun and the moon and they pissed it away.
For what it's worth, I don't blame "us" for that; that's ALL from inside the Beltway.
They really don't give one damn what we think once they are elected; and I am speaking as a person who actually has family that work in this Congress. I tried to warn them two years ago this very month.
But they knew better.
Now they are surprised when I said that there is no way on earth I'll ever pull the lever for John McCain.
IF he's our nominee, he gets my vote.
But don't you know, it's sooo much more intellectually honest to bash Republicans, all the while pandering to our enemies on the left. Kissing up to dems, telling they're great Americans, all the while the country is burning.
I'm having elective brain surgery that day. :-)
Post #162 should be at the top of every single thread! EVERY ONE
LOL. Great question.
You'll need it, AFTER you vote.....lol.
LMAO!!
I agree to a certain point, which is why I voted for Ron Saxton for Governor even though he is pro-abortion, as he would have pushed to ban state funding for abortions and also supported parental consent.
But I do have limits as to how liberal a GOP pol is before I say "Nope" and vote for a write-in, and that is when there is no identifiable difference between he or his opponent.
Such is Pataki, Bloomberg, Giuliani or McCain.
I would consider voting for Romney, maybe, if he is a strong enough candidate that can stop McCain or Giuliani, even though Romney is anti-gun, because I think he can be an effective opponent to Hitliary, but if McCain gets the nod, I will never vote for him, and if that gets us Hitliary, so be it...McCain is so far outside the pale that I see no difference between him or Hitliary.

Hiya xs!!!
howyadoin?
To each his own, but at least I was right about you... you "get it" and understand how majorites are made and that darn few candidates meet all or most of our individual desires.
Thanks for your reply, Ed.
A-OK and you?
You may be right.
Republics die, and this may be America's time to fade into tyrrany and chaos.
I hope and pray not, but the people are so blind, so foolish, so selfish in their concerns.
The character of the average American is nothing to what it used to be, and that's when rot takes over....
I personally think all this is the result of turning away from Christianity. The tens of millions of babies murdered since Roe v Wade, the number of people who marry and then divorce, not living up to their sacred vows and thus shattering their families.
The addiction to sexual immorality in the form of porn, illicit sex and adultery, the immorality of putting oneself first, rather than one's wife, family and nation, all of these things have come about because people have turned away from morality and principles, and we're reaping the rewards of such.
Anyone who can look at Nancy Pelosi and not see her for the monster she is has been deluded by their own self-interest, their own lust for illicit gain, and their dislike of the traditional Christian principles that have kept this country strong for so long...
