WASHINGTON (AP) --

In a concession to the Senate's new Democratic majority, four of President Bush's appeals court appointees have asked to have their nominations withdrawn, Republican officials said Tuesday.

These officials said that William Haynes, William Myers and Terrence Boyle had all decided to abandon their quest for confirmation. Another nominee, Mike Wallace, let it be known last month that he, too, had asked Bush to withdraw his nomination.

"This should be all out war. The Senate wants to deny these nominees an up or down vote, then shut down the entire legislative process with the veto pen. No good legislation is going to come out of there now anyhow."

Couldn't agree more!!

What's so amazing to me is two months after the November election the '100% or stay home' klan are still spewing feeble excuses that should have been taken care of in the primaries....NOT THE NOVEMBER ELECTION.

Because of their tunnel vision and selfishness we are now all suffering and worse is yet to come.

Sadly, America may never be able to recover from the dive off the cliff they've forced on us.

Quite a list. And I would wager that 99% of those things that the federal gov. does is not supported by the powers granted in the constitution. What ever happened to the constitution anyway? Have not seen it in quite a while.
Come to think of it, wasn't there once a bill before congress to enact an "Enumerated Powers" act? I believe it would have required that any bill would have had to point to the article in the constitution which allows the spending of funds for that bill.
Anyway, the federal government is out of control.

A Republican first will vote for anyone with an "R" by their name, whether it is the tyrannical Mike Bloomberg or the bloated plutocrat Geroge Putaki.

Go ahead, Ed, mention the names of their opponents.

A lot of the time it is more about voting AGAINST the other candidate.

I don't think we'll recover, AmeriBrit. Not in my lifetime anyway. And I'm only 51 so not exactly ancient yet. LOL

Once the Americans get socialized under this new Democrat Congress, I don't see ANY politician coming along and taking away those new programs and freebies.

We won't recover from this. And the Republicans aren't blameless, of course; they did some foolish things for sure. But it is the 24/7 GOP party and Republican candidate bashers I'm speaking to today.

You can have the last word if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Such as the primary in Arizona where the national congressional committee butted in to an election where there was no incumbent and supported one candidate over the other? And where the retiring incumbent refused to endorse the winner of the primary?

That works both ways.

But the woman judge who went to the homosexual based marriage ceremony is allowed to stay on.

she is the one who should have withdrawn.

I think we can all safely assume that to some it's the ISSUE they want; instead of fighting liberals, they've spent the last six years fighting the very people who COULD HAVE helped them.

You'll have to ask the people who turned this country over to the liberals about that.

Frist could have taken care of the problem of filibustering judicial nominiations - but he didn't have the tacos to do it.

Exactly. Anyone who is only on FR bashing the GOP and Republican candidates isn't a conservative or a Republican.

So, how do you like your new face, sans nose?

You can flame and rant and rave all you want, but the facts remain that in sending your "message", you consigned us all to the Socialist agenda. Saying that the "Pubbies forced you" is disengenuous to the extreme.

The base didn't warn the president about the borders. Haven't you seen the polls which reflected that immigration placed around #7 in the list of concerns?

Howlin - I'm leaving for a while but know you've posted those polls before. If you have them handy, could you post them again? Thanks.
