OK, although my point was that there was no chance that an African Lion would ever show up in my back yard -- so while I desired to keep them out, I didn't really have to DO ANYTHING to make that happen.

What I'm saying is that the ACLU pitch here is a straw man to scare us into giving them money so they can sue schools to prevent our kids from expressing their faith in public.

I got your drift, there; that, even though there's no threat, people want to pay a third party to deal with it. I realize that the ACLU would be a paper tiger if people would stand up and be responsible for themselves, which will never happen. So, the ACLU is able to subsist on the wealth of the shiftless who want some .org somewhere to go do their dirty work for them.

Mr. and Mrs. anti-god, or whatever, are too much the wimps to confront the godly in the public square on their own; to actually complain in person, or in their own name, about some perceived threat; but they'll readily cough up $50 a month to pay the ACLU to do it. So, the ACLU continually warns about the coming invasion of African Lions; promising to stave it off with every dollar they receive from their monthly supporters.

Then, in a made-for-Hollywood fit of delicious irony, those bogey-man-threatened contributors to the ACLU have the flaming gall to bad-mouth televangelists for making financial appeals of the same nature. LOL!!
