Why aren't the poppy fields just bombed? I think its all BS ...the government knows just what is going on and it not honest about it, we wouldn't want to upset the Afghanistan warlords or whatever they call themselves. The government makes too much money off the drug trade to stop it. I have always thought that terrorists could wipe out a large part of our population just by drugs.

Afghans don't have a very high rate of drug abuse. They sould probably legalize the drug so that the profits don't go to the Taliban. It wouldn't hurt them at all. In fact, it could be a significant revenue stream that they could use to rebuild their country and fight the war on terror.
