Nancy C'Alesandro Pelosi grew up in an urban political machine in Baltimore where the only thing counted was winning. Votes were bought. Crooks were supported as allies. Charges were dismissed by compliant prosecutors and judges.

The D'Alesandro Machine there was as crooked as a dog's hind leg. It still is, now that it's two heartbeats away from the Presidency. And THIS is an example for all women? Not for my daughters and granddaughters. I expect more integrity from them, and they expect more of themselves.

The sad reality in all this is that Pelosi is an extremist, and though I am happy to see a woman ascend to majority leader, she is going to crash & burn. It will make it difficult for the next woman to assume that role.
