Every Republican Rep should have a list of amendments in hand and rise 1 after another to ask the Speaker to be allowed to read a bill, or to offer an amendment, to ask for a quorum, etc. Every chance they get. They should be politely unruly and continue every single day.

I hope all the people that thought the way to convince others that may have been considering not voting or going third party was by calling them mororns, idiots, etc. or telling them their votes weren't needed anyway are happy now.

This is not surprising. It goes back to the old saying ... "If you are wondering what the Liberals (Dems) are up to, just listen to what they are accusing others (Pubbies) of doing". Once again, this fits perfect.

I don't think the Republicans in the house have the leadership or the balls to do that. Too bad DeLay isn't there.

I don't know what to believe; one day I'm told by GOP faithfulhow stupid I am and that my vote doesn't mean anything so go ahead and vote my conscience then the next day the GOP faithful tell me how stupid I am for voting my conscience!

I guess the only thing that is consistent is that the GOP faithful think I'm stupid.

That sure makes me want to join forces with them /s!

That's rich coming from DeLay...the moron who cost us at least one House seat in a solid GOP district.

What exactly was it that Tom Delay did to "cost us" his seat?

Just how is DeLay the moron when he is being charged with something that wasn't even a crime! Charges have been brought up and a trial delayed so they could force him out of the House. And they have and they wanted him gone because he was one of the very few Republicans who would fight back against those dirty rat ba***rds. He will be sorely missed in the House.

DeLay didn't cost us a damn thing. Some bought and paid for "prosecutor" brought charges against him after he shopped around for a compliant grand jury then refused to let DeLay have his day in court. Rouge prosecutors on the payroll of political hacks or out to make a name for themselves by bringing "charges" (see Duke rape case) are a new threat to the country. Not Tom DeLay.

One real danger of having millions of unassimilated immigrants from undemocratic countries here is that they do not understand or believe in democracy. You can pick that up many places, especially in the cynicism of democracy for Iraq. It is also writ large on the Democrat methods of seizing and weilding power. They are totalitarian elitists, not democrats. They are progressive only in the sense that their mentality is 1900.

But this would mean the repubs would have to get a backbone, and we all know that will never happen. These easychair, cigar smoking, milk toast eating crop of spineless weasels mearly want their pay, and the hell with their constituents. This is why they are out of power. And just who the hell is martinez, and why is he leading the GOP?

I don't know much about Martinez, but I have a suggestion for him and every other Republican in the Leadership:

"Either grow a pair or vacate your chair."

Martinez is a moderate from Florida.

We need a conservative agenda driven leader up there. We needed Michael Steele to lead the GOP.

I wish the 'Pubbies had been as nasty and ruthless as the Democrats are going to be - they'd still be in office, and they might have done something both useful and relatively permanent with their tenure as majority.
