According to Miami-Dade Police detective Robert Williams, the men were trying to conceal themselves. The three detainees, all of Middle Eastern descent, were in the country legally and none appear to be on any terrorist watch lists, Oriheula said. That is enough for me!
All the more reason to deports their donkeys ASAP.
Obviously, they lied to obtain residency...
As for being on a watch list, shouldn't this apply immediately?

"The vehicle was subsequently searched and two additional men were found in the truck's cab, Orihuela said."Is there a translation issue (after all, it is Miami) or were the jihadists actually hiding in the cab? Or more poor writing?

Like the flying imams, who were testing aviation security I venture to say that this was a test of our Port Security.

Try this stunt in Russia or China you will be questioned & then never heard from again. Another problem solved!

Seriously now, is there a question about why three Arab men (two of whom were brothers) would take the opportunity to run their truck from Michigan to Miami Beach in early January?
All the rest of the story is apparantly a result of miscommunication among various people working for the port authority ~ many of whom probably should be deported back to Salerno, Port au' Prince, Vera Cruz and so forth.

Either that, or it was a dry run to see how much resistance they'll get trying to sneak a truck load of explosives into a busy port. And remember, the authorities ALWAYS play down these incidents, especially if they might spook the all-important tourists. Originally, they said the shoe bomber was just a harmless nut, then they said his shoe bomb would cause no damage, and then, when they were starting to look really foolish, they fessed up that the guy was dangerous and prosecuted him.

Seriously now, is there a question about why three Arab men (two of whom were brothers) would take the opportunity to run their truck from Michigan to Miami Beach in early January? Plus the fact that the driver was 20 years old. What company would hire someone that young with that little experience ( just the insurance costs alone ) to drive a load that large, that far. Also, one of the "passengers" had no ID. If someone was planning on taking a trip that long, would they travel without any ID ?
To: TheCipher
Whether or not the guy had an ID, we also have reports that they were all legal residents, so presumably they all had some sort of "papers".
And which one is the driver? Didn't they have a guy 28?
