That's what I want.
I have no experience with the .35 Rem. but what I've read says it's superior to the 30-30.
With the LeverEvolution ammo it can reach out there.
If Marlin will bring out a similar new cartridge in .35 cal I'd jump all over it.

I have one of those, but it is in 2 pieces. Never drive your 4 wheeler up a steep grade in Colorado with the thing across your back is all I can say. Looking for good synthetic stock to replace it with I just haven't got around to doing it yet. Great gun though, now that I think about it I might go shopping for one on the Internet tonight.

Cool, will give it a try. I am looking for a decent synthetic stock that won't need a lot of fitting for the long action of the pre '64, most need a lot of grinding to fit right, and that tells me they didn't do it right.

Gunbroker has most everything you want and they have great search tools to find it.
I love that site for finding guns. If you have never been there you will love it.

What a shame the Remington 540 is no longer available. I have one, and it's both a tack driver, and a joy to shoot. Another nice Remington that we can't buy anymore is the Remington Nylon Model 66. Sometime in the mid '80s a Brazilian firm bought the rights to the Nylon along with the production machinery from Remington and made them for another 10 years. I bought one for less than $100, and it's a beautiful gun. Again, what a shame.

My son had a 45/70 in a Thompson Contender pistol.
Even with 2 sets of rings he couldn't keep the scope from moving...lol.
He sent it back to the factory and they agreed that it couldn't handle the recoil with a scope.
They offered him any other barrel he wanted so he got a 7-30 waters.
It was fun to shoot it though.

They just reinvented the wheel. Nothing new here except the ammo will cost more. There are many .308 bolt guns that will do the job and as a rule a bolt gun is more accurate.
But it does look nice.

Mine is a Marlin lever gun and it can be a handful with full loads but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I shoot mostly .308, 6mmBRX and .45 for pistol.
The 45-70 will handle anything I meet.
I really like the TC pistols, I have shot a friend of mines and they are top quality.
