4 or 5 nukes in the right places and we are an 1880's society with 300+ million people to feed. Yea, think about that.

The dilemma in my mind is, that I think we can lose the whole shooting-match if our enemies (Jihadis, Russia, China, et al) choose to kill us with a thousand cuts. I don't see us having the collective will to take on our enemies in a way that leads to victory.

I don't think we will win, if we don't have a cohesive motivation to win. It brings me sadness, but I don't think that will happen until most people in America feel directly endangered.
