"Webb promises 'diplomatic solution' in Iraq"

"Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada told a roaring crowd, "The election's over. It's time for a change. It's time for bipartisanship, it's time for open government, transparency, and it's a time for results."

"New York Sen. Charles Schumer said, "Will we stand up to the president when we think he is wrong? Yes. But our real mission is to work together and help the American family and make a better America, and we pledge today that we will never lose sight of that, our true mission."

Hilarious! They almost seem irritated they won control since now they *have to* actually stand for something!

If only they could be counted upon to oppose W's amnesty scheme, there might be some hope. "Pay-go" is back but there's no limit on raising taxes to cover gaps on what they want to spend so it's basically a blank check.

Seems par for the course.

And there's the story of how, the night after Clinton was elected, Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting "Dead! . . . Dead! . . . Dead!" and plunging the knife into the table after every name. "When he was done, the table looked like a lunar landscape," one campaign veteran recalls. "It was like something out of The Godfather. But that's Rahm for you."

Southtack,

Your tagline on media bias prompted me to post this again. I already posted it to JohnHuang2.

The MSM can be counted on to be "good Soviets" with their propaganda.

Time cover, Nov 7, 1994.

The new Time cover will be out this week.

It is rumored to be a full, staged picture of Nancy Pelosi with a glowing title, something called "A New Beginning" or "A Grand Moment in History."

I personally would like it to be this picture. It shows all her smugness, lust for power, megalomania, self-worship, narcissism, and contempt.

How much of the money we passed out to police and Fire Departments form Homeland security has already been wasted?

What did new Orleans do with theirs. We know they didnt stock and shelters. Fire apparatus manufacturers have had a field day with all of the new apparatus delivered, new masks have been bought wheen there was nothing wrong with the old ones. How many have equipment to recognise gas and radiations attacks and the ability to use it/

Money thrown at a problem without proper guidance in its spending is usually wasted.

It was not wasted liberals won the Congress, wonder how much was used to 'get out the vote' last November?
