A dangerous divide is forcing Australian Muslims to abandon their homes, says Sydney cleric Feiz Mohamed in Lebanon reports Middle East correspondent Martin Chulov ----------
AUSTRALIA'S most influential firebrand cleric feels like an alien in his own country. And Sheik Feiz Mohamed is not alone. He believes a rising anti-Islamic tide has made Muslims wary of their countrymen, forcing at least eight families to abandon their homeland for the Middle East. From the foothills of his ancestral village in north Lebanon, the man with the most sway over the nation's Islamic youth says five years into the war on terror a dangerous divide exists here.
In a rare interview, Feiz, an Australian citizen, says he is apprehensive about returning home after spending more than 12 months in Lebanon caring for his ailing father.
"Imagine me going to the Opera House and taking photos," he says. "I can't walk through the airport without hundreds of eyes on me. They are like foxes trying to eat sheep.
"Before I left I was at a restaurant in Sutherland (in southern Sydney) with my wife, eating spaghetti, and we were like aliens from Mars. I said, 'Let's get out of here'.
"We are just human beings. I am not saying Australia is negative or not good, I am saying it has changed.
"There are about seven or eight families who have left in the last few months and many more who are planning to go."

Maybe I misunderstood. Maybe the guy is still in Lebanon.
Hope he stays.
Look what the terrorists did to you.
Criticize THEM.
EXCELLENT! Do not despise the day of small beginnings.
That's a good start. Don't give up there, Australia!
It works!
Well Feiz, it seems to me that you and your pals should have stood up and joined the good guys a long time ago.
So, it just plain sucks to be you, huh....(yawn).
Typical Muslim egotism and BS. I hope he gets out and stays out
I have friends who are Lebanese and Iranian/Armenian muslims. They visit both places as and when necessary. They do not see the tribal antagonisms and violence there the same way that we (European Americans) do - its pretty much an accepted part of life.
BUT they are damn happy to get back here and they do NOT feel any apprehension in returning no matter how long they've been gone.
you have to read it several times...he was speaking from Lebanon. The muslim Lebanese are the greatest pack of whingers on this planet, most of them have dual citizenship, they collect welfare payments from Australia and live in Lebanon. Their 'youths' roam in packs in Sydney - for example:

Tim Priest: Dont turn a blind eye to terror in our midst
Great Article!
Only the illogic of Islam could come up with a steaming pile like this.
So don't come to me now because you are the majority or you are in the power now to say to me, "Well, this is only my way or the highway". I won't accept that.
Isn't this what Islam is telling the rest of the world?
that's probably because the islamofascist imam hadn't got to them in time to tell them what to say and think...
most of them hold dual citizenship...
No you are not...you are Muslims!
funny, I don't see it that way, Martin Chulov for the Australian newspaper (Rupert Murdoch) writes the content of the interview and allows us to make up our own minds. The kicker is in the following statement...we recognise the implication - it's blackmail:
He says he and the nation's two other fundamental clerics - Sheik Mohammed Omran in Melbourne and Sydney's Sheik Abdul Salem Mohammed Zoud - offered a guarantee to safeguard their homeland from radicalism and the anger of Muslim youth that simmers over "the evil ways of the American regime".
Drop into pond full of adult 'Salties' that haven't fed in 3 months. If they make it to the other side, they get to stay...
Or they can just refuse the test and get a one-way ticket to Saudi Arabia...
Good news for Australia. Keep up the good work, guys.
Or, you might simply be breathing and walking around minding your own business.

Preserving The
Islamic Identity in The West
Threats & Solutions
excerpt:
It is therefore unavoidable that as long as we live here we will, through a process of cultural osmosis, take on some of the characteristics of the Kuffar. The likeness of Islam and Kuffar is like that o f fresh clear spring water and water brought up from the bottom of a suburban sewer. If even a drop of the filthy water enters the clear water, the clarity diminishes. Likewise it only takes a drop of the filth of disbelief to contaminate Islam in the West. If we have it within our means we should therefore consider moving to a Muslim land whereby we can at least live amongst our brethren and within an Islamic society free from the contamination of the disbelievers.

Fraser was warned on LebaneseBy Matthew Franklin
January 01, 2007
IMMIGRATION authorities warned the Fraser government in 1976 it was accepting too many Lebanese Muslim refugees without "the required qualities" for successful integration.
The Fraser cabinet was also told many of the refugees were unskilled, illiterate and had questionable character and standards of personal hygiene.
Cabinet documents released today by the National Archives under the 30-year rule reveal how Australia's decision to accept thousands of Lebanese Muslims fleeing Lebanon's 1976 civil war led to a temporary collapse of normal eligibility standards.
The emergence of the documents raises the question of whether the temporary relaxation might have contributed to contemporary racial tensions in Sydney's southwest, which exploded a year ago into race-based riots in Cronulla...

Here in the States, we have laws against inciting riots or advocating the violent overthrow of the government. Have anything similar Down Under?
