BTW, membership in UCS, and signing their letters & petitions as "Scientists," has very little to do having specialized knowledge in the particular area of science being touted. I know, because they used to call me to sign things when I was a quasi-liberal, because I had a masters (now one among others)in a "Social science" discipline, namely psychology (Clinical) for signing things well outside that discipline back in the mid-70s, when I played with being a Democrat. (Statute of limitations for being a democrat have probably lapsed over the past 30 years of being a member of the VRWC.) They said (more or less): "Congratulations: You're a scientist."

They are a POLITICAL organization only, and a far left one at that, and their opinions have nothing to do with science and everything to do with Leftsits Politics, obviously.

(I know how they think & its not pretty. They're basically Marxists, or at least their staff & leadership are.)
