I don't think the Catholic Church supports Pelosi at all. Read the article................it's about one person saying he could always talk with her.

It's not about the Catholic Church!

Catechism of the Catholic Church and what it says about those who support abortion

What does this say about Speaker Pelosi?

It's Pelosi's fault, remember?

It's especially sickening to us Catholics.

It's a real stretch to say that Catholics are celebrating Pelosi. Some may be, but the majority are most likely not and the more informed they are the less they will celebrate.

If that's the actual headline, it's journalistic error.

Absolutely. You cannot be truly Catholic and pro-abortion or pro-embryonic stem cell research.

All Ms. Pelosi needs to do is read her Catholic Catechism to prove my point....if she owns one.

"It's especially sickening to us Catholics."

The outrage is equal to all true Christians and all those in the pro-life movement.

"As far as the headline is concerned THIS Catholic wouldn't have voted for her had I lived in her district. I live in MA, and I've never voted for Teddy the Swimmer or John Effin Kerry"

I can empathize with you, SuzieQ. I'm a conservative Catholic who lives in a state/district that is "represented" by a lesbian, pro-death congresswoman; a homosexual pro-death senator and last and certainly least, a second male senator, Russ Feingold who I have written dozens of times regarding the sanctity of life, who when asked what should be done if during a "partial-birth abortion" the baby was accidently delivered from the birth canal, his response was, "Well, that would be up to the woman and her doctor".

Needless to say, the voting booth is about as depressing a place to be as I imagine it is for you.

Well we cast what we hope were our last votes in MA this past November. We're hoping that next election, we'll be in MS, and at least have a SOME folks who truly represent us.

I understand and admire what you are saying, Darth, but the real slap in the face to Catholics who treasure and do their best to practice their faith is that she still claims to be one. The shame and disgust created by her behavior is felt by all true Christians and Orthodox Jews as well as all who believe in the sanctity of all innocent life.

The knife just seems to cut a little deeper when she, Teddy the swimmer and their ilk violate, in my opinion, the sanctity of a Catholic Church on Sunday and vote to legalize abortion on Monday.

Pelosi and all her cohorts slaps all Christians in the face equally as bad because the Scripture says this from I Corinthians 12:

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15If the foot were to say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body’, that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear were to say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body’, that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’, nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’ 22On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and those members of the body that we think less honourable we clothe with greater honour, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect; 24whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honour to the inferior member, 25that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. 26If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together with it.
