It looks like the Republicans have found their theme for the next two years of Democratic control of Congress. A slew of press releases from the GOP yesterday focused on the spectre of tax-raising by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their controlling caucuses. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney became the first top-level Republican primary candidate to sign the Tax Pledge, joining most of the Republican caucuses in Congress:
Seeking to broaden his appeal as a presidential candidate beyond those Republicans attracted by his reputation as a social conservative, Governor Romney is making a play for economic conservatives by focusing on taxes.
Moments before Mr. Romney, whose term as governor ended this week, entered the offices of his presidential exploratory committee for the first time as a private citizen, he warned that the new Democratic Congress would succumb to raising taxes.

What is all the whining about? I for one am glad to know that Mitt's priority is not raising tax rates. I hope the death tax rates will be abolished, too. This is good medicine for the economy by enhancing capital formation. I want a capitalist in the White House, not a socialist Democrat.

I know, the guy comes out says he's pro life and against rasing taxes and he gets attacked. People keep forgetting Ronald Reagan was a Democrat once.
Keeping tax rates low will actually raise total revenues. Laffer curve and all that. Romney is also great at reducing unnecessary expenses given his experience with Bain Capital, the 2002 Olympics, and and the Mass legislature. Reducing the Federal Deficit is a priority for me, something we Republicans can do "for the children" whom the Democrats are always talking about.
You quote the words of an avowed Liberal in a Liberal Magazine to tell conservatives how they should view Mitt???
