A former Duke Lacrosse player has filed a lawsuit against the University saying he was failed by an professor because of his membership on the lacrosse team.

Regurgitation of old Malthusian concepts.
Could this be a slam-dunk RICO suit?
As a 46 year-old college student, I can confirm that these ideas are indeed STANDARD in most sociology theory classes. Sickening, isn't it?

One more thing---I don't make judgements on people based on their photographs.

Fifteen years after receiving a Ph.D. and only an assistant visiting professor. She should be at least a tenured associate professor if not a full professor by now.
No publications in referred journals perhaps just another pompous left wing windbag.
And that pretty much summarizes the entire philosophy and knowledge of these moonbat professors. From here to slogans, talking points, tired Marxist cliches.
Have you managed to find the "Free Speech Under Attack" article that's listed on her recent pub list? I have searched through the News and Observer's archives and cannot seem to locate it.
Thanks (I think)
There isn't enough information to know if this young man was going to fail anyway...
I'll wait 'til there's more.
While none of us are aware of all the details of the case... However, IIRC, historically, the Duke LAX team has one of the highest graduation rate of any of the NCAA sports offered at Duke.
Speaking as a former LAX player in college (NCAA Div III), LAX players tended to be better students than many other sports players. I think that a big part of that is that there's practically no "professional" LAX (yes, I know that there are both indoor and outdoor pro LAX, but it's VERY limited), so the people who participate do it through a love of the sport... And they tend to be excellent students. At my college, about 3/4 of the team was majoring in engineering or the sciences.
I've also wondered how the sport's been labled a "rich mans game," even though it's a Native American sport.

This is just the start of lawsuits for Duke. I love it.
I hope the other 3 boys get the other half.
I've used Newsbank to search for this article by both title and author, and I can't find it. I've done searches for the entire year of 2001.
Me too --- never mind the merits --- I hope all of them file suits.
Can't get much more liberal than this one:
PhD, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, 1991
BA, San Francisco State University, 1979
Sue the panties off her.
*******Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science, specializes in political theory with particular concentration in contemporary continental work and feminist theory. She has written Our Sense of the Real: Aesthetic Experience and Arendtian Politics. She has also published articles on multicultural education, ethical debates among feminists over new reproductive technologies, and the early women's liberation movement. She is currently at work on a book on the feminist movement in the United States that examines the relationship between theory and practice.
I doubt that's actually the case. Everyone makes judgement on appearence because how people present themselves to the public says a lot about the. Her appearence screams "aging bitter feminist".
That Duke allows a certified whacko like this to be on faculty says much about Duke.
