Player Files Lawsuit Against Duke University

A former Duke Lacrosse player has filed a lawsuit against the University saying he was failed by an professor because of his membership on the lacrosse team.

"Duke is being sued for breach of contract and unjust enrichment. Curtis and Duke are being sued for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and punitive damages. For all but one of those claims the lawsuit states that the plaintiffs were damaged in excess of $10,000."


I wish they would sue in Federal Court for civil rights violations. I would love to see Duke bankrupted by this.

Quite frankly--I'm not going to comment about this..... There isn't enough information to know if this young man was going to fail anyway... I'll wait 'til there's more.

2. She was in teh group of 88 lynch mob.
2. Read her Bio.
3. Look at her picture.

It is about time. I know of at least one student who received a failing grade in either the late 60's or early 70's because he served in Vietnam.
I hope more conservative students sue these left wing POS's. I am not an attorney but suing for breach of contract sounds good to me. There is certainly an implied contract between a student and a faculty member and a college that one will be graded on the basis of his/her performance in the course and not by the actions of others or one's prior military service etc.

OMG, is this woman for real. In my years of college...ahem, it took a little longer than 4.....I have never, ever read such nonsense in a course description, syllabus, etc.
This woman is onviously way too full of herself, Karl Marx, and Al Gore.
I hope that Lacrosse team ends up owning Duke.
I don't like them, I don't like the university but I feel these young men were treated to a "lynch mob" mentality and suffered everything but the public hanging.
It's a shame what the accusations of one dirty female can cause.

Professor Curtis was among the "Group of 88" professors who published an advertisement in the Duke Chronicle calling the rape scandal a "social disaster." The Group of 88, perceived by critics as attacking the Lacrosse team, at one point thanked protesters who posted "wanted" fliers containing photos of all or nearly all of the Lacrosse players.
