PRESIDENT BUSH WILL NOMINATE ZALMAY KHALILZAD -- AN AFGHAN MUSLIM CURRENTLY SERVING AS AMBASSADOR TO IRAQ -- AS THE NEW U.S. AMBASSADOR TO THE U.N., ABC NEWS IS REPORTING... DEVELOPING...
Good Choice. Not as good as Bolton though. I miss him already.
Yes, we know, it over in Breaking News.
The Democrats just wet themselves
Though I probably would have chosen different words, I think my feeling is about the same as yours.
Others think he's a good choice. Wonder why.
(Normally I'd choose different words but sometimes my manners slip aside)
Why is he good?
Another "news" source to add to tagline.
I don't know much about him, but is he an american citizen? or an Afghan citizen? Plenty of good Afghans came to this country during the soviet occupation and became citizens.
"They" being ABC, not the mods.
Look at the link in comment 9. Many freepers have posted why they are of the opinion that he'd be a good choice.
Why is he bad?
Your opinion is based upon your experience working with the man?
Sorry, I just don't trust any Muslims until I'm proven wrong.
Oops, messed up on the links.

Big snookies, the UN is as relevant as buggy whips.
An Afghan and Muslim by birth, Khalilzad is being considered for the post of Undersecretary General for Political Affairs, one of the most powerful jobs in the U.N., that usually goes to a British diplomat, according to reliable sources in Washington and New York.

The intimation is that solely because he's a nominal Muslim.
