Everyone has a right to housing. The question is, do you have the right to make everyone else pay for yours?

Correct. The 'right' to housing means the government can't prevent you from having a house.

A legal right to housing will guarantee that the French tax revenues pay for this housing. In turn, this will guarantee a subsidy for the slums and start a slide into more and more deteriorating property which will provide more slums for French taxpayers to pay for. Liberalism stinks.

Is there a major city in the USA that does not have public housing? I grew up in Dallas, and we had it there, we have it here in San Francisco, I believe Chicago has public housing.

By 2012, the government wants the right to housing...At whose expense? The renter's? The seller's? I can see it now:
"These people have a right to housing so you'd better rent to them, and at this price, or else!"

The French will soon legislate a sacrosanct "Right to Life".
Thereafter, any reprobates who show insufficient respect for this essential human right by dying will forfeit all of their property to the State.
