- Police and family members said a 10-year-old boy who died by hanging himself from a bunk bed was apparently mimicking the execution of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Sergio Pelico was found dead Sunday in his apartment bedroom, said Webster police Lt. Tom Claunch. Pelico's mother told police he had previously watched a news report on Saddam's death.

"It appears to be accidental," Claunch said. "Our gut reaction is that he was experimenting."

Media never blamed any jumpers on those who saw the people "jumping" from the WTC on 9-11.

Spanish television also showed more footage of people falling from buildings on 9-11 and one of the American Spanish networks had a tabloid program that showed a guy murdering a woman (with a gun to the back of the head) while she visited someone's grave and spoke with the camera crew.

Mexico celebrates the dead. There are magazines devoted to car crashes.

Illegal immigration is irrevelant to this topic, as well. As are constitutional rights.

I'm not easily offended -- but sometimes the ignorance on this forum amazes me.

Who died and left you in charge of what is allowed to be discussed and what isn't?

Why would you think that???

They removed the comment you replied to, so I cannot see the context of your statement to #16...

Please elaborate...I am genuinely interested in understanding what you meant by this post...

Is there something in my logic that offends you? If so, then show me where you have the constitutional right not to be offended. /s

I was just being a wise ass though it is likely that the entire family is illegal. My initial comment was mocking those with a monomania about Illegals.

I can confirm this statement, based on my experience...

The hispanic culture is obsessed with death and the witnessing of that occurance, whether by accident or deliberate...

Is that a negative, I am not so sure...I believe it is based more on an affirmation of life, then the ending of life...At least that is what I believe the root fascination is with the end of life...

Now, that being said, I do believe that the fascination is more along the lines of a pop culture fascination, that the westernized (American) media shuns as humanly possible images of actual moments of death or graphic depictions of death...

So nowadays it is not uncommon to see videos, and other depictions of death and mayhem in the hispanic community...

One example...

Go to a Flea Market in any hispanic community and watch for the video booths that show and sell videos of Mexican rodeos and other events...You'll soon see what I am talking about...

All I am saying is that the sensationalizing of death in the hispanic community IS prevalent, and not subject to much discretion or parental supervision...

Why this boy did this can be speculated on from here to next Christmas...I don't believe his, or his families immigration status is an issue...

This is only a headline grabbing story, we have at least three total events similar to this all over the world...The unfortunate fact that this one happened right down here in Webster is a moot point...

I doubt this is the last one...

Nobody seems to believe that putting a rope or cord around your neck and jumping off a support is a wise thing to do, if you don't have to do it...

So if the spin off of this story, and the ones like it turn into this pityfest that we should not have executed (technically it wasn't us, it was the Iraqi Government) Saddam Hussien so soon...

I have zero pity for the families that exploit the stupidity of their inaction to prevent these tragedies on that premise...

But I can already see from what I saw at lunch today that it is being spun like that...

I understand...I have had the feeling that others believe I can be that way as well...

You might understand why in my last post...#73 I think...

So if the spin off of this story, and the ones like it turn into this pityfest that we should not have executed (technically it wasn't us, it was the Iraqi Government) Saddam Hussien so soon............... I think the execution was right on time. My point I was making is that newscasters assume that everyone is up to date for the why, evidently the kid was not or he would not have asked his uncle why SH was hanged. Yeah, I thought everyone knew also.

I agree, there seems to be a reckless abandon in the assumptions (editorial) that the MSM espouses these days...That should be no secret for folks like us that can accurately read between the lines of what they spew 24/7...

The common denominator is how can they best get people to sit and vegitate in front of their TV's...

And no network I know of, is not guilty of that...

My only assumption (I'm allowed a few I guess) in this case is that its the nature of the beast that TV news and other information sources, is simple that...News...Not evidence...

I would for the most part trust and enjoy the analytical discussions and debate here, and on a few other places I go to, for the information I need everyday, over absolutely anything else coming across the TV any other time...

I don't care how cute some of the FoxNews girls are...;-)

Ok, I lied there...
