- Police and family members said a 10-year-old boy who died by hanging himself from a bunk bed was apparently mimicking the execution of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.
Sergio Pelico was found dead Sunday in his apartment bedroom, said Webster police Lt. Tom Claunch. Pelico's mother told police he had previously watched a news report on Saddam's death.
"It appears to be accidental," Claunch said. "Our gut reaction is that he was experimenting."

I realized that one day when somebody posted an article with a headline that very badly misrepresented the piece's actual content. It took fifteen or sixteen posts before somebody said something that wasn't absolute balderdash to anyone who had read it past the headline.
I forgot there is not pre qualifications to be a Freeper we just have to zot them in time.
And you believe that you are significant?LOL that made me laugh.
Why? It's the rest of the family I'm thinking of. If you're a citizen in a new country, then you bury your dead in the new country. If you're a transient or an illegal immigrant then it's back to the old country. This is a side issue anyway more on the lines of how widespread illegal immigration is.
Just had to get the accusation in. Wouldn't want to be thought soft on Illegals. Returning body to Guatamala is a clue.
And I can't believe a deranged anarchist claims agreement with me.
I make no statement about myself, just about your obvious pismire status.
LOL what a strange day.
And a Happy New Year to All. Actually it is sad that a young kid hangs himself Illegal or not. If it was an accident that is sad if it was deliberate that is tragic.
Not always, ever heard of a family burial plot? A place where all family have been burried for many, many of years? Maybe they are here illegal, maybe not but that is not the story here.
About time you come back to reality.
You can believe this involves a family burial plot if you like but more than likely it is some rundown graveyard barely distinguished from a weed field. If it is like Mexico graves are not even permanent but bodies can be removed when the rent stops being paid.
I would be willing to wager that this is a family of Illegals which is DELIBERATELY kept from the public knowledge. That does not affect my sympathy for them in their loss. And anyone here can tell you my stance on the issue is not one of hysteria as is so often the case here.
I have never left it.
The child had nothing to do with the decision of being in the US. Just like you and I had not choice where we were born.
I brought no "argument" merely a speculation affecting nothing wrt the story except possibly adding a little background.
Matter of fact I am done with this thread. Go ahead and get the last word in.
In the movie "the quick and the dead" they show a guy being hanged, although in the end his daughter shoots him dead before he is actually hung.
I don't remember THAT movie causing people to run out and hang themselves.
But I think there is a greater impact when you understand you are watching reality. I won't even watch the hanging myself, there's no way I'd let my 10-year-old watch it, or even my 13-year-old.
Funny thing is, kids are seeing all sorts of stuff on the internet and TV, and acting out, and mostly everybody says we shouldn't worry, it doesn't really effect them, but it does, and we should.
My grandmother came here in 1915 at the age of 15. Lived here all of her life. Died in 1994. She wanted to be buried w/ her parents. Shipped her ashes back to Florence.
Does that make her less of an American in your eyes?
Your grandmother is irrelevant - totally irrelevant to the probability that someone who is shipping a body to another country is more likely to be an illegal immigrant than an american. Is there something in my logic that offends you? If so, then show me where you have the constitutional right not to be offended.
