Big h/t to reader PJG.
Does it get any more foul than this? During the 8 AM ET hour of Don Imus's show this morning he and Mike Barnicle fantasized about how various Republicans would react to being hung on the gallows.
Note: this item was prepared from the closed-caption transcript. It will be reviewed and corrected as appropriate in the course of the morning.Imus: "I tried to imagine how members of the various current administration members would behave were they subjected to the gallows as Saddam Hussein was. I can see Rumsfeld . . . "
Barnicle: "He wouldn't take it."
Imus: "No blindfold for Rumsfeld."
Barnicle: "F-you. You go to the gallows with the noose you want, with the noose you have, not the noose you want. Whatever."
Imus: "That's exactly right. Just as that trap door opens, he drops an f-bomb to all of them."
Barnicle: "How about Cheney?"
Imus: "I don't think he would make it up the steps. This is a guy that would wet his pants and whine and start crying."
Barnicle: "He would order as a last meal 400 pounds of bacon."
Imus: "This guy has six diplomas to get out of Vietnam because he had, what was the phrase he used -- he had some more important issues to deal witH. He got his wife pregnant just to keep him out of dealing with this. Wolfowitz would cry."
Barnicle: "He would be shot in the back running away."
Imus: "Exactly."
Barnicle: "Or some of the other players."
Imus: "Richard Perle."
Barnicle: "Oh, God. He would soil himself."
Imus: "Can't you see him being dragged up by his shirt?"
Barnicle: "And a combover hanging over down the side of his head."
In one of the oddest transitions, Barnicle then asks: "Everybody well in your family, your kids, wife, all that?
Imus: "Thank God, everybody is, and I hope everybody is in your household and everybody else's household, because the health of your family, everything else pales in comparison. If you draw a breath in the morning, you're ahead of the day."
Such wonderful family values, these guys.
Finkelstein was in Iraq in November. Contact him at mark@gunhill.net
And you've since corrected it. Well done. I'm butting out now.
Craig Crawford was just on with Imus. They talked about McCain's 08 chances and Crawford brought up some good stuff that Imus will no doubt use when McCain is on later in the program. Imus was also reviewing with Crawford what was said yesterday about how various folks would react if they were sent to the gallows. It was not as funny as yesterday but still, for my money nothing on morning television matches the Imus program. Nothing.
You are a worthless, steaming pile just like he is...
Someone who does not deserve it...
I would rather just kick them in the teeth afterwards, but that is just the big ugly cowboy that I am...
A guy who is wearing Depends is hypocritical to make fun of anyone else pissing in his pants... Nothing new for the "IMAN"
Two tough guys. If you were in prison with either one of them and told them to perform oral sex on you or else you would slap them, the answer from both would be, "Don't slap me."
Real cowboys are some of Imus' biggest fans. You must be of the "broke back" genre.
Imus is a skinny, saggy old doper/drunk...
Who ... or what ... is an I-mus?
That he is . . . and more!
Identify (pos)
Free speech. I think this is one of the things the left over looks at times.
It allows others to see they are, a "pos" in their thinking and, in their actions, / cutting tires is just such one incident comes to mind.
I don't know what it is in growing older, sometimes in Imus case, makes one bitter at the whole world.
For those who watch his morning show. Don't you just love it when he makes fun of the name of Jesus?
I use to watch the show up until a couple of years ago, until he started his rant on the evangelicals.
Imus is about as funny as a bad case of shingles.
