In memory of Darrent Williams, the Broncos player killed Monday, Denver should close ranks against the gun culture that endangers the city's streets.
The dawn of the new year should be a time of renewed optimism and fresh starts. Instead, Denver is reeling with sadness over a senseless tragedy.
If the Denver Broncos are the heart of the city, as one player said recently, then that heart is breaking over the shooting death of 24-year-old cornerback Darrent Williams. He was gunned down in the middle of the night on Jan. 1 when someone pulled alongside his rented Hummer limo and strafed it with gunfire. Williams had just left a birthday party for Denver Nugget Kenyon Martin at Shelter, a nightclub on Broadway. Two others in the limo also were injured.

I'd call it a thug culture enabled by a liberal mindset that blames everything but the obvious for all that's wrong in our society.
What's a "Legally" registered gun. "Shall not be infinged would seem to preclude having to register, that is beg the government for permission to own, any sort of firearm.
That said, the idiot who did this, gangsta though he be, just gave Schumer and Pelosi, et. al., all the excuse they'll need to ram some more gun control up our .... well you know.
Or would we be hearing about the Molotov Cocktail Culture.
What if it had been an adherent of the ROP, and he had just blown his own vehicle up alongside? Would we be hearing about the "Bomb Culture"? I know we'd not be hearing about "Islamic Culture" or "Arab Culture".
I'd say that is only slightly more likely than the other theory which says it was someone shooting into Rich Guy's Limo. Could be a black, a Latino or even some drunken/high white trash. You never know.
Or resort to use of commonplace items of our high energy culture. Gasoline being the most likely, because it's the easiest to obtain, and probably the one posing the least danger to it's wielder. (But Molotov Cocktails have been known to burn the hand that throws them, just like grenades)
This is the owner of the SUV believed involved in the shooting, Brian Hicks
Only thing is, he's been in jail the whole time. Can't get a better alibi than that.
However the article linked above reports that Williams was seen in contact with members of a gang that is a rival to the one Mr. Hicks belongs to. So it's beginning to look like Mr. Williams is a victim of gang warfare, even though he may not have done anything more than talk with members of one of the gangs involved.
Oops forgot the link.
