People seeing Saddam’s ghost in Baghdad public areas
India Daily ^ | 12.31.06

In a most bizarre stories ever heard, some people in Baghdad are claiming that they are seeing Saddam’s ghost in Baghdad public areas. Sources say, this may be a plot by the Baathists to keep Saddam ‘alive’ among the Sunni communities. Some claim he is seen in restaurants, markets and so on. It is possible many Saddam look-alikes are now more prominent and people are mistaking these look-alikes as possible Saddam. It is also possible that Saddam was such a threat that people just cannot believe he is dead and not coming back.

None of these possible ghost sightings are confirmed by any reliable sources or Iraqi authorities. Saddam Hussein was buried before dawn on Sunday in his native village of Awja, near Tikrit in northern Iraq, the head of his tribe and a family source said. Ali al-Nida, head of the Albu Nasir tribe, told Reuters the burial in a family plot took place in the early morning, less than 24 hours after the former president was hanged for crimes against humanity. He gave no further details.

A source close to Saddam's family confirmed his remains were interred at Awja, where his sons Uday and Qusay, killed by US troops in 2003, also lie in a family plot. The family had said he might be buried in the western city of Ramadi. Arab television stations broadcast new video images of Saddam's hanging, apparently shot on a low-quality camera by guards or other officials at the execution, taken from a different angle from footage shown on Iraqi state television.

What's wrong with that? I just saw Elvis the other day at the A & P; he was buying Pop Tarts.

If he didn't have a wood chipper with him, don't worry.

Maybe it was just one of those look-alikes. You know--the transparent one!

Well, once a couple of these ghosts are lynched to shreds, the frequency of sightings will decline.

I think the Iraqi's are actually seeing the inebriated, emaciated, homeless former singing superstar Glenn Campbell.

I'm sure there are thousands of Iraqis who see Saddam's ghost.
He was omnipresent. Allseeing, allhearing and allknowing.
I think this shows how unimaginably intimidated and traumatized Iraqis were by Saddam Hussein's tyranny. Westerners who didn't endure his rule will never be able to grasp the fear and terror that ruled Iraq for 30 years.

It was the best for Iraq to get a shock therapy in form of a "quick" crude hanging.

They just think they are seeing his ghost. I think.

Who here hasn't known some one who just passed away and you start seeing them all over just as mistaken...or you go to a vacation city and think you see people from you home town?

To be expected, no ghosts, no nothing. Coincidences.

Casper Saddam is a pretty friendly Tikrit Sunni ghost.
In fact, he's the Sunni-iest ghost I know.
Sometimes grown up folks Iraqis might look at him with sheer terror, but most kids Dan Rathers are pretty fond of him.

He always will say "Alu Akhbar" to you, and believe me, he's really glad to meet you put you through a plastic shredder and rape your women. Now that I think about it, wherever he may go, he's kind murderous to everyliving creature!
