I saw both the Sunday and Monday night episodes. I'd let 24 lapse for the last few seasons, but this opening brought me back. I think it could occur just as it was portrayed in the show last night. Of particular interest was the subplot involving the folks living next door to a Peaceful Muslim that's constantly being picked on as a "scapegoat" for all Arabs when in fact he IS a terrorist and winds up killing the infidels who defended him!

I don't know what's worse, the nuke or the fact that Jack Bauer is having a nervous breakdown. I wonder if they're fixin' to give him some "down time" in the series. That's the TEST of a mega-hit series: It can survive the death of the prime character. Can somebody give me a list of the key players killed off last season? I stopped watching after a mole in CTU killed Jack's wife. So, who's died since her (Mrs Bauer)?

President David Palmer, and Michelle Dressler were killed in the first five minutes of season 5.

I saw a special on E! channel, and they said that Kiefer Sutherland has signed on for two more seasons.

IMO seasons 4 and 5 were far better than the previous three. Get them through Netflix or amazon.com. You'll be hooked again :-)
