So, can the President just use his status as Chief Law Executor to arrest seditious and treasonous Congressmen? No .. he is not a dictator
There would have to be an investigation before an indictment was made .. then that person would have a trial to find whether guilty or not guilty
Most times .. especially in a time of war are there won't be indictments unless there is really hard and damaging evidence to that can be proven in a court of law
the government doesn't like to release sensitive information .. for obvious reasons

Lincoln did it ... expelling Congressman Vallandigham.
I realize the political backlash the President would receive for arresting and charging a member of Congress with sedition or treason, but IMO, since he is viewed as a lame duck for the next two years, he needs to make an example of one of these Congressmen. These Congressmen need to be made to understand that when the good people of America vote for them, they are to root for the home team and not stab us in the back. We have sedition and treason defined and on the books for a reason. If nobody is prepared to enforce them, Congressmen will do as they please like they do today.
