A Novena is a prayer that lasts for nine days, hence the name. My hubby, SirKit, comes from a family of 6 kids. My m-i-l was a convert, and didn't quite know about the nine day thing, so she prayed a Novena for two weeks to have a child, as she'd had difficulty conceiving. She always joked that those extra 5 days gave her the extra 5 kids! ;o)

Do please consider, if you're not already doing it, going up in the Communion line, where the Priest is, and crossing your arms to let him know that you will not receive the Body and Blood of Jesus, but want to receive a blessing, instead. If the priests are familiar with you, it will be just a further sign of your interest in converting, and it will link you to the Mass in a more personal and profound way.
