he certainly faces no possibility of in-depth scrutiny from the "mainstream media," as his brand of "Christianity" poses little or no threat to their liberal social agenda.
I think that sums it up rather nicely.

The more I see and hear of Warren, the less I trust him or believe anything he says. Anyone who calls himself an "evangelical Christian" who receives, and basks in, so much fawning adulation by the Drive By Media is almost automatically suspect in my book, his sucking up to the likes of Assad and Barack Obama aside.

Watch for this guy to get a keynote speaker nod for one night at the 2008 democrat National Convention.

Bill Clinton is also very good at seeming to tell people what they want to hear. Is Warren that kind of guy?

Without Free Republic, this kind of stuff would never get out. Thanks for posting. Stick around, the Warren Apologists should be along shortly.
They seem to think Warren is the best thing since communion.

Wow, you may be right on that....it would be an effort on the lefts part to show their "faith" side.

I hadn't considered an evening keynote address, but I will bet you are on the money.
I hear more people concerned about his use of several scripture referrences from different Bible translations or versions.

You said -- "Without Free Republic, this kind of stuff would never get out. Thanks for posting."
Yes, thanks to Free Republic.
It's apparent that much of the congregation and many of the followers of Rick Warren and his "Purpose Driven Life" have "itching ears".
2 Timothy 4:3-4
"3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
There are a lot of "fables" coming out of Rick Warren's mouth.

Star Traveler
