Explain how to do this? My experience is that giving people things and solving their problems only prolongs the inevitable.

My experience is that giving people things and solving their problems only prolongs the inevitable. It does a lot more than that. For example, it creates festering resentment among those who have had the "free" money forcibly taken from them. It makes people regret having voted for a "conservative" when that "conservative" spends THEIR money like a drunken liberal.
