ATLAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. Prosecutors in Genesee County will evaluate whether to file charges after a man was fatally shot while allegedly terrorizing a couple in their home.
Police say a 51-year-old Sterling Heights man came to the Atlas Township home of his ex-wife last weekend. He reportedly sprayed the back of the home with bullets, threw a whiskey bottle through a window and broke into the home.
The homeowner then fatally shot the man with an A-K-47 assault rifle.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Department says the 9-1-1 tape recorded the caller saying he was going to have to shoot the man firing shots at the house.
A new law in Michigan allows homeowners to use deadly force in certain situations.

Does anyone monitor these stories to compile a list of successful self defense shootings? I keep meaning to start a list to proffer when confronted with some anecdote provided by the Sarah Brady clan in support of gun control. The FBI keeps track and releases a report every two years, I think it is every two years. The last one I read had 3 million successful self defense shootings per year. This included non-shootings as well, in other words incidents in which the victime scared the perp away simply by displaying a firearm. So, about 3 million times a year law abiding citizens save their a** by the use of legally owned firearms used in self defense. Hope this helps.

"Remember, you're talking about Michigan. Soon to be the new Taxachusetts. This is a very leftwing state"
A leftwing state?
Banned queer marriage and queer unions.
Banned Affirmative Action
Passed a "shall issue" concealed weapons law.
Gun ownership rates that rival any of the states.
Near the top of states for hunting and fishing license sales.
Its next to impossible to get more than 20 miles from a shooting range.
Passed a law to protect shooting ranges from noise ordnance laws.
Passed a law to protect shooting ranges from lawsuits for injures from use of ranges.
Passed a "Right to Farm" law to protect farms from suits for smell or noise.
Its rather silly to compare Michigan to Mass.

Hell of a pest control device. Gets the job done, though.

With guns and newsmen, there's no knowing the truth. To them, any scary-looking gun is an AK-47.

I would check with the National Rifle Assn. They monitor this stuff and publish stories in their magazine.

If someone shooting into your house isn't a justifiable "certain situation," I don't know what is. To the liberal proescutor, the perp was shooting form outside and had not entered the house. Hence no need for self defence.

Thanks for the great image of my baby (M1A1) Got anymore like that? I'll make it my wallpaper at work. I teach high school in the inner city. That'll drive those antimilitary liberals nutz.

But what do the WLNS-TV [Michigan] people know? That was my feeling, too. It was probably a mini-14 or something similar. I doubt it was a real AK-47.

Could be either or. AK (Clone) or SKS.
Tons of both can be had easy.
J&G Sales are showing Yugo SKSs for $119.95 and Romanian AK-47s (semi-auto with bayonet and accessories) for $329.95.
They also have Wolf (crap) 7.62 x 39 ammo for $159.90 per 1,000 rds.

How could this be? Democrats all say assault weapons are useless for home defense. Would they lie? Tell me it isn't so. /sarc

Not if you are talking about taxes. They have taxed businesses to the point that they have moved out. Now MI is having financial problems because a big portion of their tax base has moved out.

$119?
I hate you all. Up here, that'd barely buy you a .22. Probably wouldn't, even, actually.

I know business was taxed to death here but the SBT was repealed. Now we will have to see what replaces it.
There is still quite a difference between being a state with too many taxes and being far leftwing.

PS..The thread was about guns, not taxes. ( But I agree taxes on business were too high)

Woops. Terrorized the wrong house. Attacking a house where the homeowner is armed with an AK-47 almost qualifies him as a Darwin Award nominee.

I've seen Yugo SKSs for as little as $89.95 for a "shooter grade" and $159.95 for excellent to unissued grades...

Not when you factor in Dingell, Conyers and Stabenow.
