Yeah, just as I thought. The LA Times is lying. A basic 'Ask.com' search revealed:

Eid-ul-Adha is a major Islamic holiday honoring the prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son for God. Muslims prepare and share meals with their families, neighbors, and the less fortunate. Eid-ul-Adha began Tuesday, January 10, 2006 this year. It begins Sunday, December 31, 2006 next year.

So indeed, the leftist, America-hating scumbags at the LA Times are lying - - they indeed "moved the holiday up to coincide with Saddam's execution - - just so they'd have something to wring their hands and whine about."

GMTA -- I was doing the same research while you posted your finds and ended up posting it a couple of minutes after you.

We could verify that the author was lying in a couple of minutes, so why couldn't the LAT editors do that?!

It is becoming ridiculous, that the first thing one has to do, when reading an article in the MSM, is to check all their facts, because of such high probability that they are incorrect.
