CNN has been awful. Absolutely horridI had to turn it off within seconds, this morning--the commentators were talking about the high rate of Iraqi unemployment, Saddam's execution meant nothing, etc. It was disgusting.

I'm thankful and glad, in a sense.
Scripture clearly exhorts against rejoicing at an enemy's fall--less God notice and relent in HIS punishmen. I'd rather God deliver the full punishment rather than mute it over my attitude--in any such situation. Not that my attitude would likely matter that much in this situation. But the principle is important to God in all our Spiritual lives.
But not gleeful.
Hell is a frightful place regardless of how deserved.
And, there, but for the grace of God, go I.
Humility is wise in such situations.

If it were Pinochet being hung, they would be in a celebratory mode, or at least would be showing footage over and over of his "excesses" while in power.
This is one dictator they did not want to see go.
The less victory for the US or President Bush, for them at least, the better.
