In case anyone hasn't seen it yet, here's the link to the video right up until they put the noose around his neck:

Great post.
How does it profit Alan Keyes?
You're doing great! Thanks.
Fox showed more video, this time dead. The video showed Saddam's body in a white shroud head visible and neck bent.
Thank you again!
I've watched that clip about ten times and I have to say that there is no way that is Saddam in that video.
I don't know who it is but it ain't him, no F-ing way.
Sure looks like him to me. And with DNA tests and all, you can be sure that it is.
That is the screen capture they are running on Fox. The quality is lousy. It is better than nothing but I am sure better photos exist that have not been released.
You're not kidding--I woke up early, turned on CNN and the first thing I heard was how Saddam's execution won't mean a thing for Iraq, how so many Iraqis are unemployed now, blah blah blah... I had to turn it off, literally, within seconds.
A historic event--monumental--and they have to grind it down, to pretend it means nothing, that what U.S. troops have accomplished means nothing.
I can't stand CNN. Unfortunately that's the only cable news outlet I can get here.
LOL! That DU post is pathetic.
Ok. Be a good liberal and provide NOTHING like you always do.
Ask Not for whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for Thee.
Iraq is free!
Too quick an execution for that dirtbag.
Saddam is gone.
And like the German War, Korean War, and Vietnam we continue to struggle against those who hoist great evil upon innocent people. Some wars only succeed in creating lines of hostility that must be guarded against invasion, other lines will crumble in time like the Berlin Wall, and some may call us back to war one day.
What doesn't seem to happen is the true change in mindsets. There are still communists, socialists, and nazi's among us. We shall continue to struggle against these ideologies as they are found. Sometimes they will be seen in our own congressman, party, or among our friends (Kucinich, Ellison, McKinley voted out this election cycle). And now we add Baathist and Islamists to the short list of brutal ideologies.
It is at these times as citizens of a Republic that we must stand true to our sovereignty, our Constitution, our inalienable Rights from God. We as citizens of the Free Republic grant everyone the Right to Free Speech as a Right from God. As such, we accept that these failed ideologies have the Right to profer themselves amongst the Free Republic. Let us also hold just as sacred our own God given Right to speak out and reveal the failed ideologies for what they are. Failed Russia, Failed N. Korea, Failed Islamic Nations, for their history teaches not one of a great Nations, but of evil dictators, starving peoples, uneducated masses and China of slavery even unto the children.
No matter what happens in Iraq in the coming years we took a stand against a failed ideology and delivered unto the people a chance to have a Free Nation. There is no greater gift given from citizens of the Free Republic to the oppressed. Let us also remember it is our civic duty to keep our own governance free of failed ideologies and according to the Amendments our God given Right to defend against ideologies that would oppress the Nation.
Saddam is gone, but the struggle to be Free continues. It is our struggle, not just the Iraqis'. As we pull out of Iraq in the coming year understand we didn't fail and we didn't lose. For we accomplished all we planned to do: topple a brutal regime, provide security for a free nation to rise up out of the desert sands, and an evil dictator brought to justice. But there is one more accomplishment that indicates we did not lose...We remain a Free Nation.
God Bless our Troops, God Bless America, and may God Guide Iraq to Freedom
