Thanks for the URL of the Project Safe Neighborhoods incident. I wonder which part of 'shall not be infringed' is being applied here. NRA apologists, do y'all know?

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns.

And you won't find any shootin' irons at Grumpy's Grill. Grumpy says he'll put in metal detector if he has to.

ANTI-Gun zealots lke this one are always INVENTING crisis. All this person has to do is post a sign saying firearms not allowed on premisis. IF people violate this they can be trown out and in some cases prosicuted. I seriously doubt his "Metal detector" threat anyway.

Yeah, I'm bleeding to death and have a broken neck from this car crash. But before I tell the EMT that, I'm going to get my priorities straight and tell him I have a 22 in my boot.

On the surface this conceal carry law is about the same as we have in Ohio. Interesting to see what some of the other rules are. Some counties in Ohio made it almost impossible to get a CC but we just passed laws to correct some of the this crap.

"Nebraska is about to usher in a new law that will allow people to carry concealed weapons but that doesn't mean you'll be able to carry those weapons everywhere."

Not to church, school, government offices, hospital, voting places, etc. just like in Texas, I presume.

Restrictions are plentiful

The restrictions seem SOP for all states with which I am acquainted.

The law was originally set to take effect on January 2 but state offices will be closed on Tuesday for a day of mourning for President Ford.

PS. I'll taker NE CC laws over CA's any day. Here we have the right to carry if the Sheriff approves, but most don't, unless their re-election is in question.

Sadly, most libraries and other prohibited goverment buildings won't be sensible.

If the facility lacks the means to ensure criminals are disarmed, why would any sensible citizen voluntarily disarm?

I did some work recently at a local sign company here in Grand Island, NE, and I noticed some preliminary artwork for "No Guns Allowed" signs laying out on one of the desks. I commented to one of the graphic designers there that I was sure that the criminals will be happy to have an easy-to-read sign to let them know which businesses will be easy targets.

He just grimmaced and agreed with me. Another friend of mine who is on the police force also expressed that many officers feel the same way.
