How Barack's winning the evangelicals

Like a dutiful dancing partner, Senator Barack Obama has begun courting the evangelical right, and some are already waltzing along in perfect time.

With his attendance at Rick Warren‘s church, Saddleback Valley Community, a mega-church in California for a large conference about AIDS, Obama has begun to align himself with an important base of voters to gain what conservatives lost this last year. Already lauded by some prominent evangelical publications for his outstanding "Christian faith" and a person Rick Warren called a "good friend" and a someone he'd like to work with on important issues, Obama is in perfect position, if he can keep the momentum, to use an unusual strategy for political gain.

Obama has become well-known not only for his charisma and sudden rise to fame in the last few months, but for his outspoken Christian faith to which he refers regularly.

Obama (and other 'Rats) is ample proof of Freeper Common Tator's theory that there is more than one born every minute. If this country buys into this scam, the country gets what it deserves.

Riiight. He has a near 100 percent rating from NARAL - which is why he's been rocketed into the spotlight. What a crock.

Infanticide for profit is not a value shared by civilized people much less evangelicals.

Just because he's courting that doesn't mean that they are going to close the deal and support him.

Put up a pro-abort with a pro-lifer, the pro-lifer's going to win....

I suppose facts don't matter. Pastor Warren invited both Senators Obama and Brownback to his church to discuss AIDS and what can and needs to be done.

If this "non-observant" publication can not cite chapter and verse Pastor Warren endorsed Senator Obama or his views on abortion then they are just fulminating hatred in their own morass of envy.

Condemnation of others sins seems to be an alternative for many not to examine their own. After all, the only sins one can really change are one's own and the old Pilgrims proverb of, "Your sins and your debts are greater than you think" leads one to hope that the editors of this otherwise fine publication review their thinking on this matter before further pontifications.

Put up a pro-abort with a pro-lifer, the pro-lifer's going to win....

As I recall, Obama won the Illinois race against one of America's most outspoken pro-lifers.

The libs will do what Casey, Jr. did in PA and not come right out and said they are pro-life .. they will say they are for less abortions

It's a PR war of words

More and more of the Evangelicals, especially in blue states, are falling for Aids, poverty, and global warming as the top issues they should be concerned with. Those are the ones that he appeals to. Some of the leaders have even pushed being against the reconstruction in Iraq as the "Christian" thing to do. I cannot help but think this had some effect in 2006.

I didn't know they supported killing babies that survived botched abortions.

Heh. The evangelical right is not as stupid as this article and Hussein Obama assumes. Just because some are fooled doesn't mean all are fooled.
