Iraqi Man Tortured By Saddam's Men Speaks Out
KDKA TV in Pittsburgh ^ | Dec 29, 2006 | David Highfield

(KDKA) PITTSBURGH -- A former Iraqi man now living in Pittsburgh speaks out as officials in his home country prepare to execute Saddam Hussein.

Abe Alkhuzai was one of thousands who were tortured and beaten by Saddam's regime.

Now, Alkhuzai says he just can't believe this is happening.

But he says what he endured under Saddam's regime continues to haunt him everyday.

Alkhuzai is thrilled to hear Saddam Hussein could be hanged even sooner than expected.

"In 36 hours, Saddam Hussein is going to get killed," he said. "I think he deserves his justice."

Video smuggled into the U.S. shows Alkhuzai being tortured by men he says are Saddam's operatives more than a decade ago.

"I have the scars here. I have the scars here," said Alkhuzai.

He endured 35 days of electric shocks and beatings until he managed to escape.

"I still suffer from the torture," said Alkhuzai. "I have broken bones. I suffer emotionally and physically."

As for the execution, Alkhuzai thinks it has already been too long.

"When the U.S. military capture him the first time, they should have like killed him -- same time, same hours," said Alkhuzai. "He don't deserve like he get that time… put him in trial… asking him questions. He's like a pure monster and a killer."

Alkhuzai says his brother was killed by Saddam's henchmen and then they asked his family to pay for the bullets they used.

The Pentagon is worried about violence when Saddam is executed, but Alkhuzai believes that most people in Iraq will be very happy.

Iraq doesn't need an electric chair; it needs electric bleachers.

That vicious tyrant ran people through industrial shredders from the feet up. I think his execution should be by the same implement - they should stop every few inches. Hanging is far too humane for this maggot.

There's less outrage at Saddam Hussein's crimes than there should be. Some people think the violence now proves Saddam wasn't so bad. They think it must be that Saddam was keeping a cap on sectarian violence and may have been in some sense justified in his actions.

But there is a proper onus on free people to call out and condemn and remove the worst thugs on the planet. Think of it as draining the swamp. There are still now awful thugs in Iraq, of both Sunni and Shia flavors. They are screwing up the chances of the Iraqi people to have peace and freedom, and the rest of the world to enjoy more security.

Of course nations cannot militarily defeat every thug, but this inability to come to sensible moral conclusions is weakening the West.

Saddam's crimes call for Vlad's type of cruel and unusual punishment:
Vlad III "Tepes" (the impaler) Dracula (1431 - 1476)

Very much agreed.

Remember the movie 'Hannibal', when the guy had a bunch of hogs that were trained to eat a human that was strapped to a forklift and slowly lowered into reach of the hungry hogs? Well, forget all this hanging jive, and let the Iraqi people get a forklift and some hungry hogs. And a video camera. This would be a closer approximation of justice.

I think that, at this point, the method of execution doesn't matter. What Saddam fears most at the moment is having to face God and account for his horrendous actions against his own people. All the spin in the world won't help him there.

I'm grateful that his sons are dead; if they had been captured, we would have to go through this rigamarole of a trial again, and then again.
